Education Projects

In our Education thematic area, we have been supporting a number of young people in various forms of education including formal and vocational education with success stories.

Formal School Support/Giringo Educational Scholarships and Bursaries: Five (5) young people are so far benefiting from the bursaries and scholarships. Notably among these is Hannah Tachlm who was being forced at age 15 to marry a man as old as her father in Bimbilla in northern Ghana. Hannah refused and escaped to seek refuge with some international NGOs who failed to support her. Trans4orm took up the challenge and has been supporting her Seniour Secondary Education since. She is in her final year and hopes to enter the Teacher Training College or the Nurses Training College after which she will return to her village to support her people and become a role model for other young girls in the area.

Martha, Dela, Emmanuel, Ishmael are all on bursaries and are in the Sogakofe Comboni Training Institute and the Adidome Seniour Secondary Schools all in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is hoped that this programme will expand to include more deprived but creative and smart children in 2013.
